Café and restaurant owners are celebrating relaxed restrictions this morning, with some opening their doors for the first time since the COVID-19 lockdown began.

Cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs will be allowed to welcome 10 patrons into their establishments from today in NSW and Queensland, while in the Northern Territory, there is no limit to the number allowed as long as social distancing is observed.

Outdoor gatherings of up to 10 people are now allowed in NSW and Qld and five people are allowed in the one household.

Restrictions on funerals and weddings have also been relaxed, with 30 people allowed at an outdoor funeral and 10 at weddings.

Meanwhile in Victoria, there is no indication of when restaurants and cafes will re-open.

In South Australia, there are calls to bring forward the next stage of easing restrictions after seven days of no new cases of the coronavirus.
