Kheema Biriyani || Minced Meat Biriyani || Simple and Tasty Easy Biriyani || How to make Kheema Biryani Recipe

For Rice
* 4 cups Basmati rice , soaked 15-20 minutes
* Water to cook rice
* Shahi zeera/black cumin seeds 1 tsp
* 5 green cardamoms
* 1 black cardamom
* Cinnamon stick 1
* Bay leaves 2
* Cloves 5
* Lemon juice 1 tsp
* Salt to taste

For kheema
* 2 pound ground meat(beef, Turkey, chicken, lamb)
* 2 tbsp oil
* Whole Garam masala (cinnamon stick, green cardamom, cloves, black pepper)
* 2 Onion, sliced
* 2 tomato, chopped
* 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
* 1 tsp Garam Masala
* 1 tsp Biriyani masala
* 2 tsp chilli powder
* 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
* Salt to taste
* 2 tbsp yogurt
* Handful mint leaves and coriander leaves

For Dum
* 2 tbsp ghee
* 1 tsp of lemon juice
* 1/4 cup mint leaves chopped
* 1/4 cup cilantro chopped
* Fried onions for garnish
* Saffron/food color mix with milk
* 2 tsp rose water
* Pinch of biriyani/ Garam masala to sprinkle on top
* Salt to sprinkle

1. First I made the kheema in the instant pot, turn on instant pot, select sauté. Add oil, when it’s hot add half of the the fresh whole masala and let it sauté for a minute.
2. Then add sliced onions, sauté a for 2-3 minutes then add ginger garlic paste, sauté another minute or so. Then add chopped tomatoes. Let it sauté for few minutes or until it turns soft.
3. Add all the ground masala powders to it and season it with salt. Add ground meat and let it mix everything together. Let it cook like 5 minutes in sauté mode add chopped cilantro and mint leaves to it.
4. Cancel sauté and select pressure cook on high pressure for 7 minutes.
5. Natural pressure release. Open the lid carefully. Select sauté and add yogurt and mix everything together and cancel sauté.
6. While kheema is getting ready put a big vessel on the Stove add plenty of water to cook rice. Bring it to boil. When water is boiling add rest of the whole Garam masala, 1 tsp oil, lemon juice, salt and soaked rice.
7. Here I cooked the rice like 10-12 minutes(90%), then drain the water and set aside.
8. Now you can do the dum on the stove top or oven. I did it in the oven today. Take a clean aluminum tray. Pour some oil/ ghee add the cooked kheema one layer then add then cooked rice on top then sprinkle some fried onions and chopped mint leaves and cilantro, green chillies and repeat the same process till it’s done. Sprinkle little garam masala on top.
9. Now mix saffron/food color with milk and pour this on top then pour ghee and cover with lid. Make sure it’s covered properly.
10. Pre heat oven to 350 degree, bake it for 25-30 minutes. Once it’s ready open the lid mix properly and enjoy with Raita.

If you are using stove top for dum, cook on low flame for 15-20 minutes and remove from heat. You can do the kheema in the stove top as well.
